With Chevron, immediately recognized the necessity/opportunity to create improvement for management & accessibility to Frequently Engaged Tracking & Category History (FETCH) data in the $350MM Global Chemicals, Catalysts, & Industrial Gases category. FETCH data is an efficiency methodology that delivers a dashboard perspective, transparency, and access to data using a “1-click” basis. The data includes supplier contact in the various categories, hyperlinks to contracts, supplements, data models for price tracking, savings data across suppliers & contracts, market trends & PPIs, and sourcing initiatives. When FETCH was presented to Chevron analysts around the globe, many adopted & benefit from this innovative category management tool.
I hold responsibility for strategic management of commodities within the Global Sourcing Organization. Tasked to lead, identify, develop, and implement strategies to increase value for internal clients, delivering cost savings. Implement strategies that range from low-high levels of risk, value, complexity, and impact. Active member of cross-functional team(s) comprised of counterparts of multiple business units, finance, and legal as required through all steps of the strategic sourcing process.
In addition, I have created a tracking & efficiency model for "Global Market Trends" data providing a 3-year perspective via quarterly updates from historical, current, and forecast data. This includes hyperlinks to current and viable data sources for trends & market insight to the commodities that are major cost drivers in the Chemicals, Catalysts, & Industrial Gases category. Another data model I created delivers Price Tracking providing formulaic pricing trends, historical, and current insight over all suppliers within the CC&IG category. With this model, we are able to gain visibility over time & contract, tracking price changes. Juxtaposed with the commodities trends model, we are able to better manage our supply chain and pricing components integral to the contract.
In my role at Avery, I completed the implementation of an intranet solution for stationery procurement through PeopleSoft and ARIBA. The challenge was building a bridge over the gap between true functionality and a global approach of rapid deployment and ease-of-use for the 13,000 employees engaging the system. Through cross-divisional communication and pre-bid meetings with marketing stakeholders, RFP process management with a rationalized supply base, focused approach to analyzing worst-case scenarios and implementing solutions, end users are now able to see the results of their stationery spend in real time through this online interface. Through a top-tier approach delivered at a programming level, we resolved space confinements and unpredictable source data dumps to the system simply and effectively. Performance based KPIs implemented as part of transparent metrics methodology.
I also led an initiative to reduce the $13MM Display/Point of Purchase print spend, implementing immediate and sustainable solutions in print procurement. Through insightful industry and sales analysis, vendor and stakeholder interviews, data management, process standardization, and rationalizing & managing a new and existing supplier database, I was able to create and build an impressive data-gathering vehicle including a tracking delivery method for all detailed components and the key cost drivers - materials & transportation. In addition, the front-to-back process workflow was successfully improved.
Amgen provided the opportunity to develop & implement a robust project/inventory tracking method, delivering clear visibility throughout the creative/production process of 150-180 concurrent projects with multi-level accountability and oversight accessibility by cross-divisional stakeholders / project managers / c-level constituents.
Overall, my experience has provided in depth global management, strategic procurement and front-to-back process insight in various categories, including collateral marketing, point-of-purchase display, supply tracking & management, direct mail, advertising, research, catalog, IT, event marketing, promotional goods, design, contracts, technical documentation, and packaging categories. In addition, I invented, developed, patented, produced, and delivered a line of novel products to the party good & pop/display industry. I produce elaborate marketing tools from product placement & photo shoots and working with models, contracts, press checks, & finished printed goods & their distribution.
